Our recently patented invention is a drivetrain that has a more efficient work cycle, capturing the 120 degrees of torque lost in the conventional bipedal rotary mechanism of a bicycle.
The bicycle has a variable force distribution, with an effective torque transmission from 1 o'clock to 5o'clock, thus losing the ability to apply force on the pedals over the length of 120 degrees or a third of a full circle, when the pedals are between the hours of 5-7 (60 degrees) and 11-1 (another 60 degrees).
All Torque Drive mechanism input is a reciprocal oscillatory motion and the output is a continuous unidirectional rotation of a driveshaft.
Our invention offers a continuous distribution of torque in either position of the crank arms, eliminating the loss of momentum, increasing the efficiency of the drivetrain system and saving muscle energy.
APpLICATIONS
The multiple applications of the All Torque drive include all bicycles and tricycles, paddle boats, other human powered vehicles and the ability to capure and transform the wave power into usable energy.
